Description
Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) is an anionic surfactant used as a fat emulsifier, wetting agent, detergent in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and toothpaste; also as a research tool in protein biochemistry.
The main application of SLES is in the cleaning industry, where it is an important additive for the production of domestic cleaning products, laundry detergents, soaps, de-greasers, and spot removers. It is widely used in liquid detergents as well, such as dishware, shampoo, bubble bath, and hand cleaner. SLES can also be used in washing powder and detergent for heavy dirt.
SLES can be applied for automotive care products, such as auto shampoos, polish, and waxes.
In the textile, printing, and dyeing, oil, and leather industries, SLES is used as a lubricant, dyeing agent, cleaner, foaming agent, and degreasing agent.
